Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the Nikon D3100, an entry level Nikon DX-format digital-SLR camera. The camera is equipped with a new CMOS image sensor developed by Nikon and a new image-processing engine that enable capture of high-definition images exhibiting superior image quality, and a Guide mode that allows users to capture images just as they intended.
“An entry level digital-SLR camera with a new CMOS image sensor, image-processing engine and helpful Guide mode that makes capturing beautiful images easy,” as they describe the new D3100.

Yet another smartphone wants to have a space in the limelight. O2 UK confirmed that starting next month Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 will be released. The mid-ranger smartphone will make it for a market release only in the last month of the promised Q3. Sony hasn’t announced if they will also be doing pre-orders just like iPhone 4, BlackBerry and Nokia did.

Nokia N8 isn’t the first symbian^3-running smartphone but also the only Nokia device to come with a pretty 12-megapixel camera. It also features an anodized aluminum casing, a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 680MHz processor, HDMI port and a video player with DivX / XviD support. Pre-ordering system also seem to be a good marketing strategy for these mobile phone giants. The first Symbian^3-powered device, Nokia N8, was first said to start selling in August. pre-orders are now accepted in Italy.
